Special Briefing Leptospirosis

Kuantan, January 20, 2014 - Pahang State Forestry Department has held a Special Briefing Leptospirosis staff located in the Dewan Utama Wisma Belia, Bandar Indera Mahkota. This briefing aims to provide exposure to the dangers of rat urine and fever of malaria to the staff primarily involved with operations in the forests consolation.

The department has invited two speakers from Kuantan District Health Office Dr. Amirullah bin Haji Arshad, Kuantan and the Regional Health Officer Dr. Mariah binti Alwi, Officer of Health Epidemiology. In the briefing, the staff are reminded to use gloves and shoes when on duty to avoid infection rat fever. Commenting on the briefing session, Mr Norhaidi bin Yunus, Deputy Director of Forestry (Building I) said, the staff on duty in the woods is a high risk of infection. Precisely hygiene factors should be preferred while in the area at risk.

In addition to staff, visitors consolation forests are also called upon to equally cooperate to maintain cleanliness in the forests of consolation to prevent the proliferation of rodents due to the remnants of food are discarded averaging. It can simultaneously maintain the image of the country by providing places of concentration of tourists mainly blessing A visit Malaysia Year 2014.

Briefing was attended by 300 people on staff that starts at 2:30 pm and ended at 5.00pm.
